COVID Operations and Broker-Dealer Update

Office Status

We are up and running, as well as anyone can be, in accordance with the health protocols passed down by both the State of CA and San Diego County.

We continue to encourage teleconference and web conference versus an in-person meeting, but we can certainly meet in person when that is required. We have discovered, along with everyone else, long meetings wearing masks are quite uncomfortable. Please remember to call ahead if you are planning on coming by to drop anything off.

Broker Dealer Update

It is official – Reason Financial is affiliated with LPL Financial for our broker/dealer and custodian needs!

We have been busily working through this change and we greatly appreciate your patience and assistance in making it as smooth of a transition as it could possibly be.

The heavy lifting of the move is now behind us in terms of paperwork generation. Now it is the nitty-gritty of re-setting paperless delivery options, linking financial technology, ensuring all automatic distributions and contributions are in place, and various other sundry items.

Due to the transfer of assets from one custodian to another there will be no quarterly performance reporting for this quarter. There will be monthly account statements supplied by the custodian(s), National Financial Services (our previous custodian) and LPL Financial (our new custodian). Quarterly reporting will resume as soon as we have compiled enough data to send a report. An entire quarter of data is required to be able to send reports. This will occur in either January or April of 2021, dependent on account transfer date.

Every situation is a little different and we want to make sure we have everything setup perfectly. We sincerely appreciate your trust and look forward to making it through this transition.

Our phone systems are setup to easily route calls to any and all connections as long as there is internet or cell connection. Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions. We are all available as normal. Our main line is (858) 483-7500.

Truly Yours,

Reason Financial

DISCLOSURE

All information is believed to be from reliable sources; however we make no representation as to its completeness or accuracy. All economic and performance data is historical and not indicative of future results. Market indices discussed are unmanaged. Investors cannot invest in unmanaged indices. Additional risks are associated with international investing, such as currency fluctuations, political and economic instability and differences in accounting standards.

Investing in securities in emerging markets involves special risks due to specific factors such as increased volatility, currency fluctuations and differences in auditing and other financial standards.  Securities in emerging markets are volatile and can decline significantly in response to adverse issuer, political, regulatory, market, or economic developments.

An index is a statistical measure of change in an economy or a securities market. In the case of financial markets, an index is an imaginary portfolio of securities representing a particular market or a portion of it. Each index has its own calculation methodology and is usually expressed in terms of a change from a base value. Thus, the percentage change is more important than the actual numeric value. An investment cannot be made directly into an index.

Investing in fixed income securities involves credit and interest rate risk. When interest rates rise, bond prices generally fall.  Investing in commodities may involve greater volatility and is not suitable for all investors. Investing in a non-diversified fund that concentrates holdings into fewer securities or industries involves greater risk than investing in a more diversified fund. The equity securities of small companies may not be traded as often as equity securities of large companies so they may be difficult or impossible to sell. Neither diversification nor asset allocation assure a profit or protect against a loss in declining markets. Past performance is not an indicator of future results.
